Ira, your comments about removing Mamdani disturb me. The voters knew what they were getting and will now get it “good and hard,” as Mencken would say. The remedy must come via the political process (unless Mayor M fails to execute the laws, e.g., by keeping the police from stopping anti-Jew violence.) We don’t need troops on our streets or removal of elected officials by fiat, on a slippery slope to authoritarianism.

Running for election with a platform of removing Zohran Mamdani would of course be wrong, as wrong as NY attorney general Letitia James and Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg, who ran for election with a promise of prosecuting Donald Trump.

But Mamdani ran for election with the promise of committing illegal acts such as arresting PM Netanyahu when he came to NY. If Mamdani engages in illegal acts it would be proper for the governor to act.
