Clinton's characterization was more self-defeating, however, because Clinton needed to appeal to a wider cross-section of the population than does the NYT. This, BTW, is the real reason why the NYT has no columnists who are sympathetic to Trump.
The NYT wasn't even able to accommodate Bari Weiss. There must be a huge amount of resentment at the NYT at how well this turned out for Weiss. Asking Goldberg a question about Weiss could have been very interesting.
