"It’s worth remembering for future Crimson coverage of anti-Israel activity that the Crimson doubles the crowd sizes."

Noted.

From the photos we can deduce that those who spray-painted anti-Israel slogans around the Emerald Necklace carried 3 stencils and 2 colors of paint.

One could imagine that the authorities might eventually remove the slogans, but another approach is to take a stroll there with 2 colors of magic marker. "Free Palestine" could be improved to "Free Palestine from Hamas". "Elbit kills" could be improved to "Elbit skills".

The letter from the Columbia University professors has 47 signatures at this point. It's disheartening. The advice to avoid their classes seems likely to be impossible for many students.

I'm surprised to see a claim that the Anti-Defamation League is "widely recognized as a right-wing advocacy organization".

Two years ago there was widespread frustration on the right that the ADL had turned into a left-wing organization. As described by Jonathan Tobin "Greenblatt has helped shift the ADL from its former stance as the nonpartisan gold standard for monitoring hate to being just another liberal activist group whose priority is helping the Democratic Party—something that makes sense for a former staffer in the Clinton and Obama White Houses.... The ADL endorsed the Black Lives Matter movement, which had itself endorsed anti-Semitic attacks on the state of Israel; and its “anti-racist” agenda about white supremacy. They defended two anti-Semitic members of Congress—Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.)—against criticism from former President Donald Trump, largely on the basis that they were “women of color.”"

Since October 7th the ADL has returned to the center, but it is quite a stretch to claim that they are now on the right.

Other than in a few localities for votes on local issues, I thought that noncitizen voting is both illegal and rare.

If one is never asked to prove citizenship in registering to vote it is difficult to prove any fraudulent voting that does occur. There are similar election integrity issues with mailed ballots, ballot deposit boxes and no signature verification on mailed ballots.

I suggested a solution to this problem in an article published on the day of the Biden inauguration: "America Needs a National Identity Card".
